After all if you or I started a violent insurrection would congress handle it or would the FBI and law enforcement handle it? I could see them doing this if President Trump were still President. I know he is not because the media has told me he is not. We can trust the media, right?

Right, so either it's a symbolic gesture to finish the proceedings that were prevented from continuing by Cocaine Mitch while he was still in office, or he's actually still president.
Or find a way to prevent him from running for office in 2024.
Or a way to make republicans look bad.
Or some combination of the above.
