I can relate to this post. The part that pisses me off the most is that we only have two choices: a) send your kid to school in a mandatory mask, very unhealthy, being indoctrinated to 6 feet apart and covid
Or
B) stay at home isolated and stare at a computer.
My son wants to go to school very badly. I have guilt because I do not want him wearing a mask at school, in washington state, being taught by liberals.
Have thought about moving, but don't know where to go. Don't really have the funds.
I thought about putting him in school because he's depressed. But I just don't want to conform to the covid lies
This is a concept some parents tried to do when we were forced to homeschooling last Spring. In my state unless you join the homeschooling association and use your own curriculum, you can't teach other people's kids. Always a hurdle!
Do you have kids, they can't keep their mouth shut, lol! When the kids have to be online for the class it is hard to add a teacher in without them knowing. You only get a paper curriculum if you have no internet! The homeschool kids still have to turn in a curriculum and are checked on by the state, that is the only way to get around it, join a home school group.
No i don't have kids. I was enjoying the man whore bachelor's life very nicely until Covid "hit" and all of my liberal friends became too cucked out to want to hang out anymore for fear of "getting infected".
Now I've since moved back in with family and I feel like a child again and it sucks. Silver lining is that im saving a shitload of money, but until GEOTUS reclaims his throne, i won't get to really enjoy using it :(
The punishment for not teaching them is jail but due to Covid the jails are empty, masks don't keep inmates safe evidently, so at this point you can try to get around it by going to a paper curriculum, but out of 30 classmates probably only 2 are doing that due to no internet, otherwise it is all online assignments.
Common core curriculum is also dumbing kids down. I'm a huge believer in homeschooling. My husband was homeschooled all the way up, and I went to public school. Hearing him talk about his growing up years makes me so jealous. I remember being riddled with anxiety about homework, tests, etc. Kids bullied me, and I had some truly awful teachers some years.
He on the other hand would wake up and have a morning Bible study as a family while they all ate breakfast. Then they would have 30 minutes of doing chores. And after that they would settle in and start school around 9. The little kids were done after a couple of hours. The older kids might have to do school til 1 ish... and that's with recesses and breaks. Then they had the rest of the day to play, relax, practice music, read, whatever. They were involved in sports at their local community center and they were involved in their church. They got to go on field trips all the time and got together with other homeschool families and did co-ops and stuff. He got more socialization than I did. And his mom's goal was for her kids to enjoy learning.
He went on to get his MBA and has a great job. After hearing about his experience, I will 100% homeschool if God ever blesses us with children.
Oh I keep forgetting people are still locked down. It's insane to me. I'm in Texas. Everything has been open since May/June. We have a stupid mask mandate, but other than that life is pretty much normal. It's hard to believe the lockdowns are still going on. Lunacy.
But doing school at home on the computer vs. homeschooled..... the socialization aspect would be exactly the same in either case in a lockdown area. And this way the kids aren't being indoctrinated with Marxist ideology.
I know it is hard for most parents to afford but the Christian and Parochial Private schools here in my state of NC have all been fully open during this pandemic.
Unlike the public schools, these kids have been attending school and there has been no increase in COVID reported at least in our local Christian Academy.
We do have a mask mandate in the state so I expect they have to wear masks there, unfortunately I wouldn't know for sure since I have no school aged kids here at home any longer;
I could go on for hours about the issues. I have a really hard time with the fact we have kids on computers before we teach them to type, how counter productive! Grrr..I have tried the "school homeschooling " option but my kid can not learn that way. It takes a kid with a lot of self control to be able to do that. With no actual instructor his grades went from A'S to F'S, he tests off the charts on standardized tests so they say he is learning fine. He is not he is learning to take tests.Private schools and county schools have no help for behavioral/mental health. He became so depressed when he had to home school and then his Dad got Cancer, his one escape from life, school, was taken from him.He also has a big IQ ,OCD/Anxiety/ ADHD so me teaching him is difficult, I also suffer from chronic pain so I struggle to help him most days. The mental health association doesn't even have enough help for these kids. Mine was on the verge of suicide at 11 and their answer was take him to a psychiatric ward,(we did not we watched him closely , I was not going to add that harm to him)the psychiatrists were backed up 3 months and still are. I am going to let them finish the year in the masks( even though the governor just dropped the mask order, school is keeping them) and weigh my options for next year, I know he needs the social aspect of school for sure.Until then I will continue to make them hate me for limiting screen time! Lol!
Please take them out of public school and home school. Your teaching them is much better than anything they're getting indoctrinated into in public schools.

But how would they know who's teaching what to who?
Who's gonna tell though?

That is a very good idea actually, Thanks

This works like it did for your husband for nobody else in the world right now. But yeah. The thought is perfect.

Homeschool is the way to go! Trust me you will love it!!

My 5 year old kid becomes a hyperactive zombie AFTER watching TV for only an hour or so. It changes their attention span and thought processes

I thought I was getting into one of those gamer videos the kids watch....LOL, this is great!
Maybe this is the end times? Humanity just hurtling itself faster into oblivion? Who knows anymore...
