That likely would have resulted in civil war as the other side would have been able to stir up chaos and call him a dictator. Not a good option.

Agree. Also, all of these scenarios would have caused a civil war:

using SCOTUS/law fare
Pence returning electoral votes to the states and then different slate selected
martial law with arrests before or on Jan.20th

Unfortunately, people have been so brainwashed to fight Trump at every step that it really had to be this way.

Just remember, the greater the fight, the sweeter the victory. And we’ve not yet begun to fight. Hopefully we will today. Today would be good.

Agreed. And for the record I wanted all these things to happen, only later did I realize it would have been bad. It's a good thing I'm not the one in charge of this operation.
