The story takes forever to get off the ground.

I'm following All The Shinies walk-through, and it was like the fortieth video befpre "V" climbed into a turret and started blowing aircraft to pieces. I was like, "Holy shit! This is awesome! Why did it take so long?" --because that's something you can do right away in other games.
