They are claiming that they need 2/3 in the Senate to convict and remove from office, but only 50% + 1 to disqualify from future office.
What if they get around 55%?
The counter-argument will be that 50% + 1 was not enough -- still need 2/3. In fact, that point was brought up today.
It will just be another question left unanswered.

It doesn't, but they are claiming they can do it. Just throwing it out as a possibility that would throw more chaos into things.
