And the article itself notes that the earthquake epicenter was 35 miles underneath the Japan trench subduction zone. This is one of the most seismically-active areas on earth, particularly for big quakes (for example there were FOUR quakes mag 7+ in 1938).

Not even close. The magnitude 9.1 quake in 2011 was 80 times as powerful as this 7.2 magnitude one.

Ugh a huge ass bomb in the water.. would do it. I can jump and it causes seismic activity.. they have it at the museum. ;P
