He used the word disgraceful to describe Trump's actions on Jan. 6. He was outed as a DS traitor today because he defines what is floating in the DC Swamp that needs drained. He's a walking, talking proof of why term limits are essential. Mitch and his wife have profited handsomely in DC and I think a deep dive on he and his wife's finances are in order. He likes to project an image of a southern gentleman. Today, his image was pure evil, pure traitor and I for one would love to see him exchange his spacious Senate digs for a small cell at GITMO while awaiting his trial.

We also SEVERELY need term limits. That one change would fix so many problems we face as a country.
Term limits AND a ban on corporate/foreign lobbying.
IMO, anyone running for a Federal Office should be allow only "X" amount of money to spend. When it's gone, it's gone. They'd have to be very selective on how and where they spend their allotment. This way it would cut down on the damn political TV ads and squeeze out Companies, and high dollar donors from "buying" elections.
Warren Buffet said if you made a law where spending that year was 5% or more in the red no one in congress got paid then it would be fixed overnight.
They should also only be allowed to accept campaign donations from people that can legally vote for them. No more Soros money for DA's all over the country.
Oh about a percentage of the gross average income of the country if the Average Income is 60K that you can spend 100 times that for a State office run. If a Federal office you can spend 10k times that. so 6 million for a state office and 600 million for a Federal. That might be too much but you get the Idea.
Yep.
This site actually gives a nice overview of the dark money situation. I've done a lot of research on this, as corporations buying our politicians (who needs to rig an election when you own all the players) is what got me awake and into politics in the first place.

And a mechanism for the People to bring charges against these criminal pedophiles.
Pedophiles. Don't forget many of them are pedophiles and worse if it's possible.
And punishing insider trading but seizing their assets and position.
UK here, no - it wouldn't. What happens instead is that the DNC or GOP as an organizational body becomes the lifelong swamp and act as handlers to the politicians which is what is already happening anyway.
It's a good first step, but don't over estimate what that will do on it's own. You need a death penalty for being knowingly complicit, a public financial audit of every politician every single year and mandatory drugs testing with provisions to mitigate operatives spiking each other.
If we could get enough real patriots into office, there might be enough of them that would pass legislation for it.
Term limits is one good solution. However, with the continual party bosses owning the "vetting" on any potential candidate we will still have serpents being put forth for election....shall I choose demon 1 or demon 2? We, the people, are supposed to be constitutionally vetting any potential candidate...........what happened to that?
It's the nature of politics. "Those attracted to power should not hold it." Now, that's not true for everyone, but it's pretty damn close.
That's why we the people need to always be watching and demand transparency.
Citizens United needs to be over turned, corporations don't get to spend endless amounts of money.
And these political pacs that anonymously funnel millions of dollars need to be stopped as well.
Why stop at Republicans?
