I'm surprised power wasn't cut off sooner. The utility companies now have to pay a ridiculous $8/kWh for wholesale power rather than the normal $0.04-$0.08/kWh!
Years ago, before I knew NPR was a liberal mind trap I remember hearing a story about a Texan who went from ranching cattle to working on the windmills. I feel really sorry for him. The guy's not going to have a job after this bullshit.

~50% of the wind mills are froze up or broke. More moisture than usual + low temps are playing hell.
