"So Will I" . . .

We live out, away from any city lights, and the sky is exceptionally dark and visible. I can gaze at the night sky for hours. I am fascinated by the variety and vastness of it all. The lyrics to a popular praise song, "So Will I," capture some of that awe, and I especially like the line: "If the stars were made to worship, so will I." What an awesome concept and realization. The Bible speaks of creation "groaning," and Jesus refers to the very rocks, "crying out." If creation itself can praise God, how much more should we.

David Jeremiah says, "True worship has this effect upon us: it simultaneously humbles and uplifts us. In other words, worship places us exactly where we should be, in the realization that we are small, yet a little lower than the angels; we are tiny creatures in the presence of God, but tiny creatures whom He adores."

During these uncertain times, our corporate worship opportunities have been limited, or at least, changed. But that shouldn't affect our ability to worship the creator of the universe. We can adore Him through our prayers, exalt Him when we read His word, and thank Him wherever we are.

And even if our singing voice is not the greatest, and we are not accomplished on any instruments, God only asks that we make "a joyful noise" in response to ALL He has done for us. So, let us join those stars and all creation every day . . . worshipping the God who loves us so.
