Every fall when the price is lowest, I fill our two 1,000 gallon propane tanks and we're set for cooking, hot water and heating for the year. We even have a gas fireplace in case we lose power. Bought a few acres 20+ years ago outside Atlanta and the burbs have now surrounded us, but we're ready for the zombie apocalypse or an ice storm. Sorry for the folks in TX and others affected by the weather tonight. We're not preppers but can easily go a few weeks without leaving the house. Unfortunately a propane-powered backup generator is beyond my budget.
