Pritzker just declared an emergency in all counties of Illinois. I feel like this is just business as usual up here, but they’re talking about how the strain to the whole power grid is going to jack our utility bills. No blackouts here yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Pritzker gets in on it. I get that down south they don’t have the infrastructure to handle this kind of weather, but up here I feel like it’s just more scaremongering from the left.
They are fear mongering, yes. But it's also a gaslighting technique being employed now to get you to think it's all just fear mongering, until your power actually does go out for an extended period of time. It's a way to keep people from preparing for, and staying prepared for any craziness that may arise, like say, a "sudden" snow storm "so severe" the electrical grid fails in these areas. It's part of [their] long game to keep people in the fence when it comes to prepping.
The company I work for has locations in LA and TX. For what it's worth-- We have comms with Lafayette and Baton Rouge but not Shreveport. We have comms with Ft. Worth and the north half of Houston but not Dallas and the southern half of Houston.
Texas has its own power grid called ERCOT that is independent of the rest of the country. So if you have any complaints or think that heads should roll, send all complaints to Gov. Abbott's office...
Once someone experiences cold like that, it tends to have that affect on people. It's why I live in Ctrl FL and will NEVER live above the FL/GA line ever again.
Heads need to roll for this BS. --- there's no reason why this should be happening-- if China attacked us and this is going on we'd all be dead
Now imagine if an EMP were detonated at 80-120k ft over Kansas/OK/TX area right now.
thank God we took care of that threat with noname
