It is also not the role of the police to threaten to arrest someone who might at some future time trespass, and then completely ignore the fact that someone else has actually trespassed.
I'd bet that someone was a city official. I think she should make some serious inquiries about this and file formal complaints about it. It wouldn't surprise me if there was no official report of the action.

I didn't say the couple DID trespass. Nor, am I saying the cops should show up for such a wimpy "threat'.
But I am NOT wring in saying that the cops did not go to the house for posting an anti-masker joke as the title implies.
