I’ve lived Texas my whole life and have never experienced anything like this. We were well prepared and we did have plenty of notice that this was coming but it’s still been really crazy. We were without power all day yesterday but it came back on today. However, more bad weather coming tonight so we are being told to prepare for more power outages. Our houses are not built for this type of weather so freezing pipes is also a huge concern. We just have to make it to Friday and we should be fine. Believe or not, our forecast for Sunday is going to be in the 70’s.
Idk that’s what I always have done and other people say to do it to. If the pumping stations don’t lose power then you’re good to go. If they lose power then the pipes may freeze regardless, so I would just let the faucet drip.

luckily i live in the blue area and I am not experiencing the outages the rest of the state is.
The planning for this is a complete failure.
The record low of Texas is -23F, which has been reached twice in two different locations.
This cold snap is nowhere even close.
MI here! Leave several of your faucets dripping to prevent the pipes from freezing.
