Much of society is obsessed with money. Greed is why there is a cabal of bankers, DS, elites, etc that have wanted to gain most of the planet's wealth, no matter what it takes. Money can be quite evil to some.
That lust for money and power, the DS etc will destroy entire countries if it'd make them richer. It shouldn't matter if a person is rich or poor, if they contribute information online.
