Not at my son's school. But that may be in some, and it's always good advice to parents that they make sure they are aware of what their children are being taught, regardless of where (or if) they go to school.
I have taken many steps to ensure I know what is being taught to my son (first of which being actively helping him with homework), as well as explaining patriotism to him and teaching him to be on the lookout for anyone trying to teach him 1. that he's somehow bad because he's white, 2. that America is anything less than the best country in the world, and 3. what socialism/communism looks like and to watch for it. He knows to come to us with any indication of those things. Some may think kids are too young to deal with this, but I feel like easing him into it at 10 yrs old is the best way to make sure he continually stays aware throughout his life. They're more resilient than we think, and it seems this pandemic is a good indicator of that. They just need their parents' guidance.
