How are people in an apartment supposed to be “part of the solution”? Get a generator and string cords to their second story? Put out a pan to collect rain water to drink? Having said that, I live in a place where the power goes out frequently because we live in a rural area in a deep blue state with an old electric grid put in during the Roosevelt era. So everyone and their dog has at least one generator, and we get lots of opportunities to use them each winter. But most folks in the cities are sitting ducks for this kind of disaster. I realize poor Tim Boyd probably snapped and wrote some stupid things—I would guess he had a few beers or some Jack Daniels when he posted that.
