I can't read the article either. But I really wish there was a site that tracked major corporate resignations and leadership changes over time, because I think you'd find that there are a steady stream of changes over time and you just happen to be getting all excited now because you've never paid attention before!
I wish people would post links. I follow (and work in) big tech and I don't see anything unusual. Someone on here said Zucherberg had stepped down; he had not. The only biggie I'm familiar with is Bezos.
Yeah, I saw that. It only starts in 2017 so no comparative numbers. I see a lot of government resignations; well surprise, surprise ... we just had a change of administration. And the stock market has just gone through the roof, so what better time to cash in (active CEOs are not allowed to sell stock, or at least, have to go through a very rigorous process; if you resign, you can sell all). I would like to see a study that compares resignations from, say, year 2000.
The site only starts tracking from 2017 onwards (but thanks anyway!). This reminds me a bit of the argument about Covid deaths. Suddenly everyone is freaking out about deaths, but in fact, people are dying all the time; it's just that no one highlighted it. Similarly, people resign all the time, but no one was really paying attention.
The site has a shit-ton of people resigning from the Govt; well duhhhh ... we've just had an administration change!
As for corporate America - stock market is crazy right now; great time to cash in! Most 'insiders' (CEO's ,etc) aren't allowed to cash in while 'active' but when they resign, they can cash in (no longer 'insiders').

Average is 200 to 500 per year. Under Trump it's been unprecedented. company founders also " stepping down ".

Ppface did an hr ago. There's 14,000. It takes 30 seconds to find articles related to anyone of those 14K. https://www.resignation.info/
