Resist the lure of rabbit holes, in part, by reimagining media literacy for the internet hellscape we occupy.
... you might be overloaded by information and overwhelmed
The goal of disinformation is to capture attention, and critical thinking is deep attention
... to combat this dynamic is to change how we teach media literacy: Internet users need to learn that our attention is a scarce commodity that is to be spent wisely.
Attention as a scarce commodity, eh. Right... because thinking is such a waste of time!
The SIFT method... has been picked up by dozens of universities across the country and in some Canadian high schools. What is potentially revolutionary about SIFT is that it focuses on making quick judgments. A SIFT fact check can and should take just 30, 60, 90 seconds to evaluate a piece of content.
The four steps are based on the premise that you often make a better decision with less information than you do with more
Well, it’s clear they’re targeting information from Q supporters...We should do a THINK Campaign to start countering this nonsense, or some shit, LOL And I know it’s awful to say, but it might be the reality: those who give up thinking for themselves won’t survive in this world. They’re not going to be saved, but there’s still no shortage of minds of their. Handing out redpills is great - but it won’t be as effective it were to start reminding people to put their thinking hats on, if that makes sense.
