I still don't understand the play here but I know there is far more to this than meets the eye. I have grappled with the exact same question and the answer "Its for the optics. He has to do this so they wont implement more draconian lockdowns" just doesnt cut it to me.

One thing though. The left seems to be hesitant to blame the vaccines so they are going to cover up whatever mishaps comes out of the vaxx, and hence Trump is insulated. The reason why they dont want to blame the vaxx is crucial and is what will be exposed - the real vaxx agenda.
