I'm going to go out on a speculation limb and say that whatever ad or chat room the cops posted the sting in was in English, so Spanish preference speakers wouldn't have been as likely to show up to the motel to get arrested. (Not sure it was a motel sting, but it makes sense, have the perps come to you instead of having to potentially do over 30 high risk dynamic entries all over the city to gather them up).
This is possible although there is no shortage of Spanish speakers. For 30 years I've been a lonely gringo in what has been considered a dangerous neighborhood (alcohol, drugs, bad driving). In that time I have seen flyers from the city announcing the presence of 2 sex offenders, one white, one Hispanic; had a white handyman who turned out to be molesting his daughter but he lived in a whitebread subdivision; and was annoyed along with the rest of the neighbors when a black pimp from LA brought in a bunch of very young black streetwalkers. They were getting a lot of business from random drivers on McDowell. Quckly stopped by the police as the girls were so outrageously dressed they were obviously hookers.

A win is a win and I applaud all that was involved in the operation and in the midst of all this police hating I thank these hero's in trucking right along doing what needs to be done. I wont claim there aren't bad instances but I wish there was equal treatment in the news. In this instance these officers impacted many lives from incredible pain and trauma. I hope those impacted can be healed in time.
