That's what I've been wondering. It would seem to make sense: give everyone a shot of saline and make everyone feel like they've done something against the "disease," then open everything back up. Nothing but optics.

And, what if some of the "side effects" we're seeing are either just psychosomatic or anti-vaxxers who are trying to control the narrative?
