My question? Why didn't Gov.Abbott simply order all Texas power generation facilities to operate at peak efficiency and force Biden to send his army to Texas to stop us? Does anyone think Biden would have sent the army to shut down our national gas power generation facilities?
The Governor has no such authority.
And you don't mean 'peak efficiency', that would be about where they did operate at, you possibly mean max output.
We used to run our 100 megawatt turbines at between 98-108 megawatts, peak efficiency depending on operating conditions. Temp and humidity and air pressure, other factors all determine where you run best while not polluting. But with some tuning we could run it up to 120 megawatts, say, safely under certain conditions, higher still if we didn't care about the pollution.
That's what Texas wanted to do, run them up.
Everyone would have to stand in Rebellion together, from ERCOT to the individual plant owners to the companies supplying resources to the utility companies switching the power to...everyone would have to stand in Rebellion together. Now my position might well be, 'if they intend war let it begin here' but we're talking Revolution when you defy the Feds, which Texas is just about ready to do.
The Governor 'may have' been able to convince enough people to do that, to refuse the Feds and run, but know that technically it is War or jail when you do.
I would do it, if I could, yeah, fook the Feds and run Texas. But it would be trouble, maybe War.
Understand, it will most likely come to that anyhow, the Enemy is truly after all of us, but our Texas governor cannot call for Revolution on a moment's notice.

Any federal dictates MUST be enforced at the local level. As someone said above, is Xiden going to send federal troops? AND if he did, would the people sit still for it? The feds have no real authority over the states. Consider Mack & Printz v. United States 1997. The principle is the same. It is LONG past time to stop bowing to those who consider themselves our overlords. They AIN'T.
Well yeah they are if we are a nation of Law. Right now we are pretending that we are still a nation of Laws. I don't know if Traitor joe the Pedo would send troops or not but he would send a Marshall and most Texans would obey the Law. Good griefeses.
