Weekly Discussion Thread - February 22nd - 28th
?️ DISCUSSION ?
We're going to try a weekly discussion thread to see how it goes. The expectation is that it will be posted on mondays so we don't split up weekend discussions.
Feel free to posts thoughts and suggestions.
I believe this post will get me banned from this site, which is unfortunate, but I really have to voice my feelings. I fundamentally disagree with 99% of the stuff I read on this site. I have this weird voyeur fascination with reading the posts on this site and while I completely respect everybodies right to their beliefs and am even impressed by the depth of research some of you engage in, this whole Donald Trump hero worship I see, as if this man cares about you or is interested in saving you, really makes me sad. Also, in the interest of truth, I am very much a social liberal, regularly vote democratic and seriously dislike Donald Trump and his clan but am also an Evangelical Christian who believes Jesus is the one and only savior and King who proudly served in the Marine Corps during Iraqi Freedom.
All of that being said, I want to say I understand where the anger comes from. This joke of an investigation from the New York AG seeking Trump's tax records is so close to fascism, such a disgraceful politically motivated volley launched at an ex President that I feel legitimate shame. I watched CNN read President Trump's statement while giggling and have to admit that I agree with him (mostly). It is disgraceful that a sitting AG of a state as consequential as NY is targeting a private citizen for purely political reasons and using loopholes in the justice system to publish tax return information that ought to remain private. This has opened my eyes, somewhat, to the plight of some on this forum and just want to say that while I disagree with most of your premises, I empathize with your anger and support your right to dissent.
you are a man of God and vote for abortion-promoting democrats? You are a shill.
While I don’t Vote for abortion and don’t take issue with your stance, I think it’s important to realize that “single issue voting” is a very easy way to control the masses. Humans have the right to think things through. Don’t be so easily controlled to vote for a Rino just because they claim to be anti abortion.
If you had a candidate that ticked every box in terms of lining up with your beliefs, but was heavily pro abortion, would you still vote for him, being a man of God?
I would have thought that was an important red line for many Christian's.
Only as important as the virtue signaling goes. Actual Christian behavior and values take precedent over cute little headline topics
