Not much but if you were a "satanist", opposed to the real God, what would be better than cloaking your activities under the banner of God's chosen people (chosen to reveal Him to the rest of the world by the example of how they live)? These hide under the name, but their deeds betray their real identity, because they are wicked. So they must keep their deeds behind proxies.
And then there is the dual benefit of having the flak come upon the whole group, putting them in disrepute for deeds done by the infiltrators. Much like Jan 6 went.
