exactly. dangerous and unnecessary. the Constitution isn't broken. the people who swore an oath to uphold it are. Convention of States won't remove corruption.

I would posit that there are some sorely-needed changes that should be made.

Term limits for all politicians.
No special stuff for them. They live under the same rules and circumstances as we do.
disband the IRS, and institute a flat 10% tax for everyone.
balanced federal budget 100% of the time, or government is dissolved, and new elections are held.
mandatory tough border protections and severe penalties for illegals
mandatory military service for all (2-3 year enlistment)

All of the above are post-constitution laws, institutions, and self-made problems. Abuse of power and corruption endures as long as those at the top benefit more from crime than upholding justice.

A convention of states does not give the people keys to ‘abolish that corrupt government’ but hands the nuke football to the very party establishment criminals already drunk on too much unchecked power.
