I had the same reaction, glowie means "glowing shill" in context, basically? The gif is nice but it doesn't make me think "hello fellow pedes" or whatever. The red at the top of the head almost looks like a MAGA hat?
Tried a quick search but there aren't many that don't include the other connotation of the idea, the one we're avoiding as of recently. These aren't bad maybe?
