I can see why. We may understand how abusive the Facebook platform is and how badly it violates civil rights... but for hundreds of millions of older folks, it isn't going away. It has captured that market. It's much more than just a news source for them. It's part of their lives. it's their way to share messages and pictures and look at other people's lives. I think boomers are the primary market now.

Trump gets access to a tremendous amount of people again just being allowed on FB that he would be hard-pressed to duplicate in any other way. Especially in the upcoming few years.

Twitter is a different deal. It's all about news and breaking information. Much more limited audience. Once they started suppressing any counter-narrative voices, it became an online CNN RSS Feed. No reason to come back to it. No reason for anyone here to look at it anymore.

Trump can create a new social media platform, like Twitter or Parler, as has been rumored, and can do it better and overtake or at least be similar in scale in a short period of time.
