Funny thing, I traveled to the nearby Amish town to shop recently and not only do they sell groceries cheaper, but they don’t mandate masks ?
I’ll blame the cows since we can’t ride them lol. Although their feces and horses’ can be used as fertilizer so I think that’s a win-win. Well, minus the crap-dusting.
Oh cool! I'm in Texas, so there are no Amish here (that I'm aware of). My mom visited Amish country once and she loved that trip.
Hahahaha! Transportation and fertilizer for our gardens. Sounds good to me!
I was obsessed with The Little House on the Prairie when I was little. Something about that way of life has always appealed to me. My husband and I are working towards homesteading. Not planning on going full Amish, but we definitely want to be a lot more self-sufficient.
I’m in Indiana and my personal opinion is that I don’t see enough horses around here lol. I love Texas and have some family down there. The politics in Texas just make it that much more appealing because I haven’t heard squat from Indiana’s politicians which is very frustrating to me.. granted that’s probably the Fake News’ doing.
Little House on the Prairie isn’t one I’ve seen much of. But I do believe the same protagonist in that show is in one of my favorite westerns called Bonanza. I also watch Rifleman, Gunsmoke, Rawhide, and Big Valley. I love the western era and wish I could have lived in it. Always been fascinated with horses and I will gladly bring back the Wild West by riding a horse instead of driving a car. Besides, as I mentioned earlier, don’t think they can tax all the different parts of a horse like they do cars ?
Hahaha!!!! Yeah there are a lot more horses here in Texas. Although our politics here are getting on my nerves. We freaking have a mask mandate, the power issues we just had was ridiculous, and I don't think our Governor is doing enough to fight against this tyranny. However, I do concede that our mask mandates are very lax compared to other places, and you can literally just say you have a medical exemption and that's it. He also left churches completely alone, so almost no one wears a mask at my church.
I think Little House was more popular with girls since it was about a family with all girls and it was about them growing up. I loved the show, but the books are even better. And the books are based on the actual life of Laura Ingalls Wilder and her family heading west in the 1800's.
I've never seen any of the westerns you listed. I find westerns in general are more geared towards men which is fine, because men need some great manly shows to watch lol but they don't appeal to me as much because I like to have some great female characters to root for. But I do admit since I've never seen those shows, maybe I'm mistaken that they are just "boy shows" lol
The Amish way of life is looking better and better all the time ?
Although do horse farts cause more pollution than cars? Or is that just cows? ?
