If you need a "medical reason" for any purpose, always know the dictionary definition.

They call it "practicing " medicine for a reason! 4 years of searching down the answer to my Chronic Illness has proven that to me!
Not to rain on your parade, but doctors aren't God. There is just some stuff we don't know
Never said they were God but one who think they would know more then the patients! I could tell you some horrific stories of some of these encounters with "Specialist "!
So can I. Sounds like you're a victim of 'sloppy allopathy', too.
Many doctors just look up your symptoms and find the first medicine in the PDR that should work. If that one doesn't work, they move down to the next one.
This is very true. There are sadly very few doctors who think for themselves and are the big boys of their trades. I worked with a couple of international doctors and you can tell the difference between them and the ones that go to PubMed. It is hard to find them, but they are out there.
I miss the doctor I had in my previous town. We would talk a lot. I remember one time he asked about investing in gold and silver. I gave him the standard advice about having plenty of food and other supplies, and then put excess money into gold and silver as a store of value to use after SHTF when things might get back to normal. You can't talk to just anyone about things like that. I even had another doctor who was armed at the office. He was from up north, but he didn't take crap from anyone. He was a pretty good doctor.
