Is there advertising associated with George? If so, I believe THAT is what it is about. We live in a great country where you can make a fortune off of great products, not-so-great-products that get hyped enough, and just hype based on a known demographic's interest, be it a product, or news. If 10s of millions of people "follow" some entity because they believe that entity has their interests in mind, that's a guaranteed money maker. (again, this theory only applies to "George", if there is advertising; I don't know anything about it)
