*"talcum powder was NEVER meant to be used internally." *
I've not seen anywhere that someone has claimed they deliberately used the powder internally.
Baby powder was meant to be sprinkled into a baby's diaper. Can you recognize the potential for it to migrate into the body?
And dusting with talcum powder after a shower creating a cloud can be inhaled into the lungs.
Jury awarded $117 million for 45 year-old Stephen Lanzo’s asbestos cancer, mesothelioma.
"confidential internal Johnson & Johnson documents that proved that “Johnson & Johnson and its supplier Imerys knew since the 1960’s that the talc used in Johnson’s Baby Powder contained asbestos, and that this might cause the companies to face litigation risks forty years in the future. "

There have been multiple verdicts against J&J in the ovarian cancer lawsuits. The first one was a South Dakota woman who won after refusing a $1.3 million settlement offer from the company.
From what I read they were powdering the inside and not just the outside. I don't disagree with you, it should be safe, but by the same token, iirc their studies found the potential for trace amounts of asbestos which should not have been affecting anyone. Also they have beat a lot of those suits. I am just pro J&J bc I have some in my sons' college portfolio. I like to see them get credit for some good they do.
Investments aside. Johnson & Johnson lied. They hid the information for decades that they knew there was risk. Seems to me that I read somewhere that they created a fund for the lawsuits way back when.

I have seen where grown women continued to use the powder and iirc used it inappropriately.
Yikes. I don't think I want to know what that means.
Many of the claimants say they have life long use - starting as a baby? How does the infant have any control over where the powder is used?
I once thought that something made for babies would be safe for anyone to use
