If the Dominion machines were able to give Biden 6 votes for every single vote Trump got, why did they need the rigged paper ballots on top of what the machines were able to do?

That's what I think. I think the mass, unverifiable paper ballots introduced are meant to defeat any sort of hand recount. And it is nice for their optics of "Trump losing last minute thanks to Biden winning mail in votes." So no matter how much Trump is winning by, that's a good excuse for them at the end.
