Just a thought but, Could his resignation, as U.S. Attorney but not Special counsel Have a further connotation? Doesn't a special counsel have a bit more "power" than a US Attorney. Also the article states, "First Assistant U.S. Attorney Leonard C Boyle will serve as acting U.S. attorney after Durham leaves by Feb. 28" I wonder if he is leaving before Trumps speech on Sunday and if that means anything as well.
