Why doesn't the CDC have a sample of the COVID-19 virus?

A real sample or a picture of a real sample? All I've ever seen on TV and the internet are animated pictures of what the virus is supposed to look like.

I heard you can only see the virus in the doctors office when you close your eyes real hard and start seeing stars while they swab your arse. Just sayin.
