Ok, so I have a Uniquiti network and am able to create multiple SSID’s.
What I’m trying to do now is, open those SSID’s for randoms to connect to where they are greeted with a pop up authentication page... nothin to authenticate but need it to redirect to here is the evidence or to Absolute Truth, all while separating the traffic from my lan.
My biggest hurdle is the “authentication page”
You need to configure a DHCP server to serve up those options. The one included with the router won't have the ability.
I have those SSIDs on a separate VLAN, basically on their own DHCP
What I'm trying to tell you is that DHCP does what you are asking for, you just need a REAL DHCP server.
If you create the guest ssid you can set the IP range and distribute the dns server IP's.
What you can do is run your own dns server and set it to redirect to wherever you want.
Small B&B's do this sort of thing for their guests to point them at their own web page for things before letting them out on the web, probably a good place to look up specifics on how to do it, I only inow the general theory.
True, but I don’t necessarily want them to surf the web on my accord. Just the website and maybe other approved links as well. Possibly a firewall rule where I block everything except certain websites which I approve
In that case you just redirect every dns request to the page you want
You should add “Q - Portal”. That’ll freak em’ out!
Lol! Not sure sleepers would understand. Trying to be more direct. Although I’d put a link to here

This is perfect. I’m gonna look up some YT vids on Captive Portal. What I want is when they connect, a page will come up with links to certain web sites. Will be fun. I’ll also do this to my portable wifi router
Who knows when or if your neighbors will see it. You typically don’t see the list of available WiFi networks unless you’re setting up a new device, or they have a visitor who wants to connect to their network.
Available networks will usually just pop up on your phone if it's not turned off in settings.
So there’s an AirBnB across the street from me. Also, I know that certain “free” WiFi’s pop up on my iPhone when I’m not connected to any network and I’m at the airport or something. Phone will display a notification/badge “join FREE Airport WiFi?” Imagine seeing something like “Join Biden Cheated... Trump won BIG!!”? ???
