To be fair, a lot of people were on that new party train, myself included. This was at the peak of the Republican treachery, and many people were waking up to the idea that the Republicans haven't just been incompetent for decades, but actively working against us, with the enemy.

I don't think the push against the Patriot Party stuff is just about that; I think it's Trump's way of a blanket message of "not one step back!"

He doesn't want us to give up on the republican party; he wants us to take it back. In the same way, he doesn't want us to give up America (secession), he wants to take it back. He doesn't want to give up the 2020 fraud, either.
