Start by reading the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Spend 10 minutes a day in quiet reflecting on what you read and ask God to speak to you. Read the Psalms. Read them over and over for months. Then find a companion guide to read the Old Testament, Genesis and Exodus especially, and how the New Testament is a fulfillment of the Old Testament Covenant between God and His people. But a companion text or study course is mandatory to be able to learn quickly. And then notice that Jesus only calls one thing the new testament or covenant in the Gospels. And then go to the New Testament Acts of the Apostles and letters or epistles.
The early church fathers are important to learn about, the first 300 years, and Augustine etc.
If you look into the Catholic Church, the best place to start is a parish that still has a Latin Mass. That is the best chance to receive the Truth, there has been infiltration by the cabal within the institution, but that does not change the power of the Sacraments to lead to your fulfillment of a relationship with your creator, the one true God, who sent his only begotten Son to lay down his life for (our) your sins, so that He can be the perfect sacrifice as the unblemished Passover Lamb was to lead to the people Israel out of the slavery (od sin) of Egypt. And then to conquer death through the Resurrection! May the grace and peace of our Lord, Jesus Christ be with you.
