The worst outcome possible in all of this legal maneuvering would have been the SCOTUS hearing the evidence and then rejecting the cases based on specific precedents, or worse the creation of new precedents. Especially if those precedents legitimized what happened I the 2020 election.

The power to correct future federal elections ultimately belongs to state legislatures, that has not changed. The power to correct a fraudulent, illegal election apparently Is something no governmental entity wants to touch.
