Freedom of speech isn't "everyone has to be okay with you saying whatever you want whenever you want"; it's "you can say what you want when you want, but they don't have to like or agree with it, and they can voice their opposition. Also, some things shouldn't be said at certain times; they can be, but shouldn't".
Its not it has been proven. For info digging you can start with the monkeys on separate islands figuring out the same thing after one island of monkeys did. Also You can look at old coast to coast archives, the last time I heard it worked so well that it scared them and they did not plan any more.
