Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, and every other totalitarian hellacape were all horrific, but there was nothing inherently evil about the people themselves.

This is just exactly what Leftist totalitarianism does to people, and nations. Eeeeevil Germans, nice Canadians! Bad police officers, based private-sector tire installers. Nope. Socialism can and will turn them all, alike, into state-enforcer snitches and thugs.
