Oh, I am 100% with you on everything about In N' Out. Everything except the fries, that is. Like I noted, they're unfortunately just too real potato-y (because they obviously are, as you can see them put the whole potatoes in the slicer), vs. the crave-able, artificial, double fried potato-slurry-formed fries at most fast-food restaurants. In and Out fries are like a nice salad compared to most fast-food fries, which are like crack cocaine. A salad is certainly healthier, but crack gets you really high! But you know what I'm saying. ?
Yes, everything they do is top notch, and you're right to note their lack of franchising, because that's a huge reason why they can be so consistent - they don't depend on their values and practices being imperfectly implemented and filtered by thousands of different franchisees. And being privately held, without Wall Street breathing down their necks for revenue growth, they've expanded very carefully and strategically.
Certainly the Bible verses on the cups are a great reminder of their values. And, thanks to owner Lynsi Snyder, who has a powerful, redemptive testimony showing that Christians don't have to have flawless pasts, there are now even more verses on more items!
