I just posted this because I had a thought. Now that Jau BIdan is getting into weapons etc., perhaps this is what the precipice refers to. If he goes into nuclear territory, THIS may be the precipice that triggers the military to finally take him out. Does this sound plausible. I mean, all that wrangling about the nuclear codes, etc.....
Simply you don't understand how nuke works isn't it ?
Such thing could be miniaturised (in theory) but then it would need to be mini-hydrogen bomb rather than "nuke". And it's price might be 100x higher than simple nuke,because most hydrogen bombs don't need high power nanolaser or something like that to initiate nuclear fussion. (Nukes are working on fission).
