Disney IS terrible, however, they didn’t invent the Pinocchio story. It was written in Italy in the 1800’s, I believe, and as the OP mentioned, it is written as a WARNING to kids about avoiding evil people and the importance of developing good character. Still hate Disney, but just wanted to clarify that a bit.
