Dear fren, whatever happens, do not lose faith. The goodness of our God does not depend on our getting what we think we want, when we think we want it. He is still good, He still loves you, and if you belong to Him in Christ, He promises to work ALL THINGS (even death) for our good. In the midst of it all, this is so very hard to see, but it is true nonetheless. For perspective, I’m not just sharing empty platitudes with you. A number of years ago, our family walked through the completely unexpected journey of losing a preemie twin at 9 days old. That is another story, but suffice it to say, I am intimately acquainted with grief and the questions you’re asking and always wondering how things might have been different. Similarly to your story, our daughter had one really amazing day before she suddenly took an unexpected turn for the worse. I pray for your mom’s complete restoration, but EVEN IF IT DOESN’T HAPPEN, you were given the gift of that beautiful day together. Treasure it and hold tightly to that memory no matter what the days ahead may bring. 🙏

In reading the USCIS info on the waiver, it definitely sounds like it should indeed be granted if the focus is on incompatibility with personal values rather than on safety, and if the issue is ALL jabs rather than just the C19, that seems like it would be the answer. It’s nice to know you’ve heard from some people who were accepted. Regardless, vax mandates of all kinds need to land on the dustheap of history soon. I’ve been looking into what’s involved with getting a religious/moral objection waiver, and it does sound possible—I also have family affected by this issue. I’m sure you’ve done more research than I have. What do you know about it? Have you talked with any attorneys about it? Agree 100% that it’s unfair, insane, and evil.

Nope. We don’t need school vouchers. We need the government to get COMPLETELY OUT of EVERYTHING to do with education (and virtually everything else). Children are the responsibility of their parents.
Part of the idea is to spend at least 30 minutes in the morning close to a full-spectrum light source. If you can afford to use full-spectrum bulbs throughout your house, that mimics sunshine even better. Some brands are likely better than others, so you may want to do a bit of digging before you invest. Our family is in the process of starting a small indoor winter garden under full-spectrum grow lights from the local hardware store, so double benefit: fresh food and cheerful light therapy for all. Have you looked into light therapy at all? Assuming you live in the northern hemisphere, the short hours of sunlight during this part of the year can be connected with depression and other mental health problems for some people. I’m praying for your family, fren. 🙏
