This is such a good question.

I'm 99% sure the federal income tax is completely illegal. But so is sending the goons to collect the extorsion monies, which is exactly what will happen if you don't pay the illegal tax (or will it?)

Other taxes may be legal, like state, or social security, etc. I'm really not sure.
