I agree with this sentiment, just because someone is selling some merch or whatever doesn't necessarily mean they're grifting, people gotta eat, and we're not (for now) communists.
Like X22, he provides a service, with his summaries and theories, and then some people might feel like that earns him some patronage, nothing wrong with that.
Though in this instance it does seem to be the case...
This isn't just a youtuber that you're watching for entertainment purposes. This person is claiming to be a Trump insider, with incredibly close access/connection to him, and people are desperately hoping that "good guys" are going to save our country from the shithole it is about to become thanks to our fraudulent president. George news presented themselves as one of the "good guys" working with Trump to help save the country. If you're using the platform made up of people terrified of the future who are emotionally attached to you because you led them to believe you're part of this ~super secret~ group to bring down the deep state and save the day, using that as an opportunity to sell bullshit merch is incredibly tacky and should have raised suspicions immediately. This is not the kind of situation you use to make money off of because it makes your followers feel as though you've taken advantage of them.
They've done far more than just sell merch to make it blatantly obvious that they're bullshitting.
If Q is real, then Q is real. George news is irrelevant.
Though in this instance it does seem to be the case...
My point, as is quite self-evident one would think, is that some people will often cry "PAYTRIOT!!!" or whatever, about anyone that even tries to sell some merch, have a sponsor etc.
Somehow they have this idea that people should dedicate many hours of their day by putting together a video, with the research that goes behind it and of course the editing, and that they should do this all for free
And that is moronic.
But yeah, I agree that in this case, as I said it, it is of the bad kind
There was even another thread where someone made the comparison to X22 saying something like "well u gunna hav to ban X22 too then huuurr", and I pointed out that both cases were nowhere near the same, for all the points you made yourself.

Well, honestly, that's how organized religion has worked since the invention of God.
