Years ago I worked on the movie Witness to the Execution with Sean whatshername and Tim Daly. The whole premise was a PPV execution. I remember the fake electric chair sitting in the middle of the Astrodome. At the time it seemed outlandish but now not so much. I'd buy a ticket.
That's crazy. I've never seen that movie. It's crazy how many old movies/TV shows that seemed outlandish at the time are now feeling possible. Peak clown world lol
"Witness to the Execution wants to say Important Things about capital punishment and media greed. To do that, however, you need a point of view, and this is something Witness never seems to have thought through."
Me too. At the time I really loved Tim Daly. I was working in the production office one day and Tim called in. For some dumb reason I didn't believe it was him. I thought it was someone playing a joke on me. So I was like, "Oh ok, TIM, what can I do for you?" I was mortified when I realized it was really him. There was something really creepy about that electric chair in the middle of the Astrodome though every time I passed by. Just gave me the creeps.
I hope not! I would pay a thousand dollars for a ticket to the execution. I want a front row seat.
If they made the executions pay-per-view we could pay off our entire national debt in one day.

I did love Wings though when I was younger.

If they charged ~$85,000 a person and every citizen paid that much, you'd be correct.
Ugh that makes me vomit that we owe that much. What if they open it up worldwide??? That would take it down considerably, right?
Although I'm guessing Trump already has a plan to cancel out that debt, so I'm sure we are all good :)
