Once she becomes un-popular enough and it turns out that she may have accidentally killed some of the dwindling number of democrat voters, the democrats themselves will make an example of her to pretend that they don't endorse what she does. They are not above eating their own for good PR.

And that's not withstanding that all the people she killed will rise up to vote Democrat again (regardless of who they voted for in life). She actually increased their voter base. Maybe that was the plan all along.
