Correct me if I'm wrong, but Moses was up there 40 days. Kind of like Noah's flood was 40 days and 40 nights.
I heard that sometimes when the Bible says "40 days" it's not literal, but a sort of stand-in for "a long period of time."
I'm good on a lot of Bible stuff, but not so much this one. Might have been 40 days. 80 days. What if Moses was up Sinai for half a year? A whole year?
It's Exodus 32... it says he "delayed to come down", so I'm not sure how many days. But the point is, it wasn't very long, maybe 40 days, and they just fast forwarded to making an idol and worshipping it. Moses actually had 3000 of the men killed after he came back, because of the great sin. It's actually a pretty sad story, because God had done so many miracles on their behalf and they forgot so fast. I feel like we're in the same boat today.
What was remarkable was G-d's plan was to wipe out all the Israelites completely and continue Abraham's covenant through Moses. Moses argued with him, said "No, I'd rather you erase me entirely."
True.

Yes!
He was up there longer than the Israelis were willing to wait before bowing down to a statue.
Technically, they were Israelites.
Israelis are the people who unfortunately are forging ahead with worshipping the vaccines and limiting the rights of those who haven't.
(And I love Israel. This really pisses me off)
Perhaps the pattern is repeating. The real God is taking longer than they'd like, so they're creating another false god to appeal to.
A lot of people are. The damn vaccine. The damn masks.
And G-d lives outside of the streams of time, so it's hard to follow his clock.
Argument with Atheists.
Atheist: G-d said Adam would die after he ate the fruit, right? But he lived 800 years after he ate it, so obviously G-d wasn't telling the truth.
Response: Adam DID die. He was not immortal. G-d wasn't concerned if it took 800 years or 8 seconds.
