The leftists are trying to create division. Asians are too integrated into American society and many are conservative. They want Asians to be the new blacks. What they are really doing us creating racism where none exists. It's evil and from Satan. The only reason racism against blacks exists is because it is driven by leftists. Focusing on trying to eliminate a problem that does not exist, creates that problem. This is mathematically provable.
They attempt to push this every now and then. They did it before during the early days after the George Floyd protests but it never gains steam because mining it shows more flaws than gains to race baiters.
Asians like any other group experience racist remarks, for sure. But generally speaking, they are a prosperous group which kinda derails the whole systemic racist argument as there's nothing to be shown real or imagined impeding their growth in academia, home and business ownership, wealth acquisition, etc...
In many metropolitan US cities, first generation Asian migrants and then their children grew up or lived in poorer areas which contained other migrant groups or poor people, many of them black. Lots of violent crimes were often other migrants and blacks on Asians in those areas.
Plus there's the whole Japan bombing America thing and America nuking them, yet both cultures flourished anew and a great friendship was formed.
Tl;dr - It'll fizzle out 'cause they can't sell the whole Great White Hatred towards Asians the same as blacks. True story.
As far as hate crimes go, I would say there are very few counting the ones I've seen occurring in New York. (old people being randomly attacked, covid-related verbal abuse, etc).
Knowing how liberals define "hate", they could also be referring to general racist attitudes. That in regards to Asians is a loaded subject in and of itself. I have Asian ancestry, and I can attest to it in some degree. (I'm not self-pitying, just telling the truth).
If anything I'd say the msm is using Covid as an excuse to make anti-asian racism another talking point. The allegation being that Covid has incited non-asians to deem them as being the culprits of the virus itself and cause an increase in physical attacks. I personally haven't seen that. But CA and NY are their own universes with plenty of crazies, I don't consider what happens there to be indicative of the US as a whole.
